Just to give you the following update on Abbott’s application for reimbursement for freestyle libre which may be of interest to you and readers of your blog.
Republic of Ireland – FreeStyle Libre System HSE reimbursement update
Abbott’s application for the reimbursement of the FreeStyle Libre flash glucose monitoring system in Ireland was acknowledged by the Primary
Care Reimbursement Service of the Health Service Executive on 6th February 2017. It will be considered in accordance with the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013. The application will be assessed for listing under reimbursable items for people (aged 4 and above) with diabetes who intensively use insulin; namely those requiring multiple daily injections of insulin (MDIs).

Abbott employs almost 3,000 people across 10 sites in Ireland. Major elements of the FreeStyle Libre manufacturing and assembly take place in Sanmina, Fermoy, County Cork.
